Cotswold Motorrad is proud to be sponsoring Stephen Carter (a member of S.A.M) with a BMW R 1200 RT touring motorcycle for his 1300 mile endurance ride around North England and Scotland on belhalf of the Poppy Appeal, on the weekend 19-20 June 2010. It is his aim to finish at Painswick Rugby Club at about noon, where he will join other members of (SAM) who have an open day to celebrate 20 years as a club.
Stephen quotes “My son Sam is currently serving in Afghanistan and I just wanted to do something to help. It is really ironic that I belong to a motorcycle club, Severn Advanced Motorcyclists-which when shortened is my sons' name (S.A.M) and it was at one of our club nights that we had a 'talk' from the Royal British Legion Riders Branch. During the talk they mentioned the 'Saddle-sore 1000 Miles in 24 hrs Challenge' in aid of the Poppy Appeal during the weekend of 19-20 June 2010. I was hooked I knew I had to do something to help. I also knew that due to the comfort of my bike that I needed help if I was to have a reasonable chance of completing the challenge.
